Vivo has launched the X500 Pro Max in China, and this is the phone where the company has packed most of its new flagship hardware. It gets a 200MP telephoto camera, a large 8,000mAh battery and MediaTek’s new 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset.

The phone also comes with a 6.85-inch 2K AMOLED display, up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. The Company has priced the Vivo X500 Pro Max from CNY 6,999, which is roughly ₹1 lakh. Sales in China begin on September 24.

Vivo X500 Pro Max Gets a 6.85-Inch 2K Display

The Vivo X500 Pro Max comes with a large 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 3,168 × 1,440 pixels. It uses an adaptive refresh rate that can move between 1Hz and 144Hz depending on what you are doing on the phone.

Vivo calls it a Zeiss Master Color Screen. The panel supports HDR and 10.7 billion colours, while the screen-to-body ratio stands at 95.27 percent. Vivo has also added an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

Dimensity 9600 Pro Is Built on a 2nm Process

Inside, the X500 Pro Max gets MediaTek’s new Dimensity 9600 Pro. The octa-core flagship processor uses a 2nm manufacturing process and reaches a peak clock speed of 4.55GHz. Vivo has paired the chipset with its V3+ and VS1 imaging chips.

The phone comes with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. It runs OriginOS 7 out of the box. The new chipset also helps with the phone’s camera features. The X500 Pro Max can record slow-motion video at up to 4K 240fps, along with 10-bit Log video for users who want more control while editing.

200MP Telephoto Camera Is the Main Highlight

Vivo continues to put a lot of attention on cameras with its X series. The X500 Pro Max gets three cameras on the back, led by a 50MP Zeiss main camera. The main sensor supports Vivo’s high dynamic range technology, with the company claiming up to 17EV dynamic range. There is also a 50MP ultrawide camera.

The third camera is where things become more interesting. Vivo has used a 200MP Zeiss APO periscope telephoto camera with 3.7x optical zoom. The phone also works with Vivo’s optional Zeiss teleconverter accessories, including the G2 Ultra that can extend the setup to an equivalent 400mm focal length.

A 50MP camera on the front handles selfies and video calls.

8,000mAh Battery With 90W Charging

Battery size has increased quickly on flagship Android phones, and the X500 Pro Max pushes it further with an 8,000mAh battery.

Despite that large capacity, the phone measures 7.95mm thick and weighs around 225 grams. It supports 90W wired fast charging as well as 40W wireless charging. Reverse charging is also available.

The combination of an 8,000mAh battery and 2nm processor could make battery life one of the more interesting parts of the phone, although real-world results will depend on how the hardware and software work together.

Sale Starts September 24 in China

The Vivo X500 Pro Max will go on sale in China from September 24 through Vivo’s official store. The phone is available in multiple colour options, including translated shades such as Viewing the Sunset, Echoes of the Earth, Night Photography and Sunny.

Vivo hasn’t announced the India price or release date yet. The X500 series is currently limited to China, although Vivo has indicated that a global release will follow.
