Smartwatches usually don’t change much in design every year, but Vivo is making a few noticeable upgrades with its next model. The company has started showing the Vivo Watch 6 before its official launch, giving us an early look at its design and some of the features coming with it.

Vivo will launch the Watch 6 in China on September 21 alongside the new Vivo X500 series. The smartwatch gets a titanium alloy body, sapphire crystal glass and the new BlueOS 4 software. Vivo is also putting more focus on fitness this time, especially for people who run or cycle regularly.

Vivo Watch 6 Launch Is Set for September 21

Vivo will introduce the Watch 6 at its China event on September 21. The company will also launch the Vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max at the same event, while the new Vivo Buds Clip will join them as another wearable product.

Pre-orders for the smartwatch have already started in China through Vivo’s online store and other major shopping platforms. Vivo hasn’t shared the final price yet, so we will have to wait until the launch event to know how much the new watch costs.

Titanium Body Gives It a More Premium Look

One of the biggest changes comes from the material Vivo has chosen for the watch. The Vivo Watch 6 uses TC4 aerospace-grade titanium alloy for its body. Titanium can offer good strength without making a wearable unnecessarily heavy, which makes it a useful material for something that stays on your wrist throughout the day.

Vivo is also promoting an ultra-thin case with the new model. The official images show a familiar round dial with two controls on the side, including a rotating crown. The overall design looks simple rather than sporty, so it should work with both casual and formal outfits.

Sapphire Crystal Protects the Display

Vivo has added sapphire crystal glass over the display, which is another premium upgrade for the Watch 6. Sapphire offers strong scratch resistance and we normally see it on more expensive watches and premium smartwatches.

The company hasn’t shared all the display specifications yet, including its exact size and resolution. Reports suggest that the Watch 6 could come in a 43mm case size, but Vivo hasn’t confirmed that detail yet. We should get the complete display information at the September 21 event.

BlueOS 4 Makes Its Debut on the Watch 6

The Vivo Watch 6 will also become the first device to run BlueOS 4, the latest version of Vivo’s own smartwatch operating system. The company says the software will bring several AI and fitness-related features, although it hasn’t explained every new addition yet.

BlueOS already powers Vivo’s previous smartwatches, so the new version should build on the same experience rather than completely changing it. We can expect improvements around health tracking, workouts and everyday smartwatch features, but Vivo will likely save the full software details for the launch.

Running and Cycling Get More Attention

Vivo is putting more focus on outdoor activities with the Watch 6. The company has teased an advanced running and riding guide, which could make the watch more useful for people who regularly run or cycle and want more information about their workouts.

The Watch 5 already offered more than 100 workout modes along with an AI-backed Athletic Trainer. Vivo hasn’t shared the complete sports mode list for the Watch 6 yet, but the new running and cycling tools suggest that fitness tracking will remain one of its main features.

How Different Could It Be From the Vivo Watch 5?

The Vivo Watch 5 came with a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, a 466 × 466 resolution and Always-On Display support. It also offered more than 100 workout modes and could track heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep and stress. Vivo claimed up to 22 days of battery life for that model.

The Watch 6 already looks more premium because of its titanium body and sapphire glass, while BlueOS 4 should bring new software features as well. Vivo hasn’t shared the battery capacity, full health tracking features or battery-life figures yet, so we still don’t know how big the upgrade will be in everyday use.

What About the Vivo Watch 6 India Launch?

Vivo hasn’t announced the Watch 6 for India yet. The September 21 event focuses on the Chinese market, and there is no official information about when or whether the smartwatch will reach India and other global markets.

For now, the titanium body, sapphire crystal protection and BlueOS 4 are the most interesting changes. But battery life, health tracking features and price will matter just as much for a smartwatch, and Vivo should reveal those details when the Watch 6 officially arrives on September 21.
