Sony has launched the RX10 V in India as the latest model in its RX10 series of all-in-one cameras. The new camera combines a long zoom lens with a 1.0-type stacked sensor, AI-powered autofocus and several features taken from Sony’s Alpha camera lineup.
The Sony RX10 V features a 20.1MP Exmor RS CMOS sensor, a ZEISS 24–600mm lens with 25x optical zoom and the BIONZ XR image processor. It also supports 4K video recording at up to 120fps and continuous shooting at up to 30fps.
Sony RX10 V Comes With 20.1MP Exmor RS Sensor
The Sony RX10 V uses a 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor with approximately 20.1 effective megapixels. Sony has paired the sensor with its BIONZ XR image processing engine for faster processing and improved image quality.
The camera also aims to reduce noise when shooting at medium and higher ISO levels, which can be useful in indoor and low-light conditions. It offers an ISO range of 100 to 12,800, while still images can go down to ISO 64 through the expanded range.
ZEISS 24–600mm Lens Offers 25x Optical Zoom
One of the main highlights of the Sony RX10 V is its built-in ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* lens. It provides a 24–600mm equivalent focal range along with an F2.4–F4.0 maximum aperture.
The lens offers 25x optical zoom, allowing users to capture everything from wide-angle scenes to distant subjects without changing lenses. It also supports optical image stabilisation and can focus from approximately 3cm at the wide end, making it useful for close-up photography as well.

AI Autofocus Can Recognise Different Subjects
Sony has equipped the RX10 V with a dedicated AI processing unit for improved subject recognition and autofocus. The camera can recognise humans, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains and airplanes.
Its human pose estimation technology can also identify and track people when their faces are partly hidden or they are facing away from the camera. Real-time Tracking allows users to select a subject and keep the camera focused on it as it moves.
The camera comes with Fast Hybrid AF and up to 575 phase-detection autofocus points. It can perform AF and AE calculations up to 60 times per second for better tracking of moving subjects.
Up to 30fps Continuous Shooting
The Sony RX10 V supports blackout-free continuous shooting at up to 30fps with full autofocus and auto-exposure tracking. This makes the camera suitable for subjects that move quickly, including wildlife, birds and sports.
Sony has also included a Continuous Shooting Speed Boost feature. It allows photographers to change the burst speed while shooting instead of stopping to adjust the setting separately.
4K 120p Video Recording and Slow Motion
The RX10 V can record 4K video at up to 120fps. This high frame rate also allows recorded footage to be used for up to 5x slow-motion playback.
Other video features include Active Mode image stabilisation, AI-based Auto Framing, S-Cinetone and S-Log3. The camera can store up to 16 user LUTs and supports different recording formats, including 10-bit 4:2:2 video.
The camera also supports digital audio through its Multi Interface Shoe when used with compatible microphones. A microphone input and headphone output are included for users who need more control over audio while recording.
OLED Viewfinder and Improved Battery Life
The Sony RX10 V features a 0.5-type Quad-VGA OLED electronic viewfinder with around 3.68 million dots. It also comes with a 3.0-inch adjustable touchscreen LCD with approximately 1.62 million dots.
Sony uses the NP-FZ100 rechargeable battery, which can provide up to approximately 630 shots when using the LCD. According to Sony, battery life has improved by more than 50% compared with the RX10 IV.
For connectivity, the camera supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C and HDMI. USB connectivity also supports up to 4K 30p live streaming, while Sony’s Creators’ App can be used for smartphone transfers and remote camera control.
