If you are looking for a premium Android tablet, then Samsung has launched two new options in its Galaxy Tab S-Series. The company has introduced Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ with bigger AMOLED displays and S Pen support.
Both tablets have MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor, Android 17 based One UI 9 and Galaxy AI features. Samsung is also giving seven years of software updates. The global sale will start from October 7 but India prices haven’t been announced yet.
Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and S12+ Price
Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra starts at $1,399 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. It will also come in 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB variants.
Galaxy Tab S12+ has a starting price of $1,199 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. You can also get it with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.
| Tablet | Starting Variant | Starting Price |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy Tab S12+ | 12GB + 256GB | $1,199 |
| Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra | 12GB + 256GB | $1,399 |
Samsung hasn’t announced Indian prices for both tablets right now. So don’t consider the direct currency conversion as their actual India price.
Bigger AMOLED Displays
The first thing you notice looking at Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is its huge 14.6-inch AMOLED display. It has 2960 × 1848 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.
Galaxy Tab S12+ is comparatively smaller with a 12.6-inch AMOLED display. It has 2800 × 1752 pixels resolution.
If you watch a lot of videos, work with multiple apps or use tablet for editing, then these bigger AMOLED displays could be useful. The Ultra is the bigger option while S12+ should be easier to carry around.
Dimensity 9500 Processor
Both tablets have MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. Samsung claims the new processor gives 61 percent faster NPU, 19 percent better CPU and 17 percent better GPU performance compared with the chipset used in Tab S11 Ultra.
Along this, you get Android 17 based One UI 9. Multi Window can divide the display into up to three sections, which could be useful on these bigger screens.
Samsung is also promising seven years of operating system and security updates. This means you can expect longer software support if you plan to use the tablet for several years.
Battery and Charging
Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has a big 11,600mAh battery while Galaxy Tab S12+ gets a 10,600mAh battery. Both tablets support 45W wired charging.
The Ultra weighs 692 grams and is only 5.1mm thick. Considering the 14.6-inch display and 11,600mAh battery, Samsung has kept the tablet quite thin.
However, 45W charging is not very high considering these big battery capacities. Keep this in mind if charging speed is important for you.
Camera and S Pen
Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has a 13MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera on back. Galaxy Tab S12+ only gets a single 13MP back camera.
Both tablets have a 12MP ultrawide front camera for selfie and video calls. You also get S Pen support on both models.
For connectivity, Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra supports Wi-Fi 7 while S12+ gets Wi-Fi 6E. Both have Bluetooth 6.0 and support microSD cards up to 2TB.

What About India Launch?
Samsung will start selling the Galaxy Tab S12 series in select global markets from October 7. However, the company hasn’t announced India price or exact availability yet.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is clearly the more powerful option with its 14.6-inch display, bigger battery and additional ultrawide camera. Galaxy Tab S12+ gives you most of the same main features in a smaller size.
For Indian buyers, it would be better to wait for Samsung’s official pricing. At this price range, the India price and launch offers will make a big difference before deciding between these two tablets.
