Realme Pad 2 Light

If you are looking for a good tablet around 10,000 rupees, then many options will come to your mind. There are many cheap Android tablets available in the market, but when you look at them carefully, you will find out that either their processor is weak, or the screen quality is bad, or the storage is so slow that you will not enjoy it.

But there is no need to take tension, because there is a tablet that sits right from every angle – Realme Pad 2 Light.

Why is this tablet the best?

First of all, this tablet comes in the budget of 10,000-11,000 and can be bought even cheaper with bank discounts. The biggest problem in this price range is that the display of some tablets is bad, and the performance of some is bad. But Realme Pad 2 Light is a balanced option in all these. Let’s see in detail.

1. How is the display quality?

Realme Pad 2 Light Review

If you watch YouTube or Netflix a lot, then display is going to be very important for you. Realme Pad 2 Light has a 10.95-inch display with almost 2K resolution. Its refresh rate is 90Hz, which is difficult to find in this price range. Its brightness goes up to 450 nits, which is quite decent.

Pros:
Display is sharp, viewing angles are good, colors are vibrant.

Cons:
HDR support is not there, there can be a problem of putting fingerprints on the screen.

But as a budget tablet, this is a solid display, which is perfect for binge-watching and casual use.

2. How are the speakers?

Brother, if the speakers are useless, then there will be no fun in using the tablet. Realme Pad 2 Light has a quad-speaker setup, which is quite loud and clear. It does not have Dolby Atmos, but the sound quality is impressive.

If you are looking for a tablet for YouTube videos or gaming, then its speakers will not disappoint you.

3. How is the performance?

A tablet does not run only with a good screen and speakers, performance is also important. It has MediaTek Helio G99 processor, which is considered a good chipset in this range. It comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, which is enough for browsing, streaming, and light gaming.

Pros:
Apps run smoothly, UI is lag-free.

Cons:
Opening too many apps at once can slow down a bit.

If you do casual gaming, then games like BGMI will run smoothly on low settings. This tablet is not the best option for heavy gaming, but it is good enough for basic and casual games.

4. How much is the battery backup?

A tablet is useful only when its battery backup is strong. Realme Pad 2 Light has a 8300mAh battery, which can easily give 8-9 hours of screen-on time. Meaning if you charge it once, it will last for 1-2 days, if used normally.

Pros:
Battery life is good, it will last long after full charge.

Cons:
15W charging which is a bit slow (it can take 1 hour 45 minutes to fully charge).

But expecting fast charging in a budget tablet would also be a bit unfair.

5. Connectivity and Calling Feature

It has a hybrid SIM + microSD slot, meaning you can use data by inserting a SIM and can also make calls. But one drawback is that calls are possible only on speaker or earbuds, because it does not have a dedicated earpiece.

WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 support is also available, which is quite decent in this price range.

6. Build Quality and Design

Another important thing is design and build quality. This tablet is made of full plastic body and comes with 8.3mm thickness. It may feel a bit heavy, but the touch grip of the vegan leather strip gives good grip.

Pros:
Stylish design, comfortable grip.

Cons:
No fingerprint scanner, plastic build.

It has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, which is good for video calls and basic photos. But keep in mind that you should not buy a tablet for photography.

7. Software Support and Updates

Now let’s talk about one such point which is important for long-term usesoftware updates. Realme Pad 2 Light will get updates for 2 years, but it is not clear yet whether it will get OS updates or just security updates.

If you want to enjoy the latest Android versions, then you may have to think a little, but if you want a tablet for basic use then don’t worry.

Is there any shortcoming in this tablet?

As I said, there is no perfect device. Realme Pad 2 Light is a very good option, but there are some drawbacks:

  • No HDR support – YouTube or Netflix experience could have been a little better.
  • Plastic build – There is no metal or glass body, but the grip is quite good.
  • No fingerprint scanner – Only face unlock option.
  • Software updates are not confirmed – There is a promise of 2 years, but details are not clear.

But if the price is seen, then these drawbacks do not seem to be too big.

Should I buy this tablet?

If your budget is 10,000-11,000 rupees and you are looking for an all-rounder tablet that gives good display, loud speakers, strong battery, and decent performance, then Realme Pad 2 Light is the best option.

For entertainment? Yes!
For online classes or reading? Yes!
For gaming? Casual gaming will work, not heavy gaming.
For long-term updates? A bit doubtful.

But the features that this tablet is offering in this price range are not available in any other tablet. So if you want to buy a good tablet in budget, then this is the best option!
