OnePlus 13R Review

Hello guys, welcome back! If you are thinking of buying OnePlus’s new smartphone OnePlus 13R, then this blog post is just for you. So I have used this phone for 30 days and am going to share my full experience of its design, performance, battery, and camera. So let’s start without wasting time!

Design and Build Quality

The design of OnePlus 13R gives a very premium feel. Its vegan leather texture on the back is very smooth and gives a high-end smartphone feeling. But if you like phones with a glossy finish, then this may seem a little different.

One small problem is that fingerprints appear quickly on the glossy parts on the side, which can be a bit annoying. If you are a phone user who likes to use the phone without a cover, then you have to keep in mind that small scratches start appearing quickly.

Display: 2K Panel And 120Hz Refresh Rate

The display of OnePlus 13R is a highlight feature. This is a 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED panel, which supports 120Hz refresh rate. Meaning, scrolling and gaming feel quite smooth. If you like to watch Netflix or YouTube, then Dolby Vision and HDR support is also available, which makes the viewing experience even better.

Its brightness is also quite good in outdoor usage. The screen is clearly visible even in the sun, which is also important for a flagship phone.

Performance: Power of Snapdragon 8 Elite

If you are a power user or you like gaming, then the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor of OnePlus 13R is of great use to you. I played heavy games like Genshin Impact, Call of Duty, and BGMI on this phone and everything ran buttery smooth.

The cooling system of OnePlus also works quite well. The phone does not heat up too much even after long gaming sessions. RAM and storage are also based on the latest technology, which makes the phone even faster.

Battery Life: Does it last more than a day?

This phone has a big battery of 6000mAh, which can easily last for 2 days on normal usage. If you do heavy gaming and video streaming, then also you will easily get a day’s backup.

Talking about fast charging, with a 100W charger, the phone gets fully charged in just 30-35 minutes. Wireless charging is also there, but it is a bit slow compared to wired charging.

Camera: OnePlus’s Best Camera Phone?

The camera setup of OnePlus 13R is also quite strong. 3 cameras of 50MP have been given in the bottom – 1 primary, 1 ultra-wide, and 1 telephoto lens.

Daylight Photography:

  • Photos are sharp and detailed
  • Colors look natural
  • AI optimization works quite well

Low Light Photography:

  • Night mode is decent, but sometimes the photos look a bit artificially bright

Selfie Camera:

  • 32MP front camera, which takes good selfies
  • Best for social media

But, if you like professional photography, then it is not as powerful as the top-end models of iPhone or Samsung.

Software: Experience of OxygenOS 15

OnePlus 13R runs on OxygenOS 15, which is Android 15 based. The UI is quite smooth, and the special features of OnePlus are available in it.

Some new AI features have also been added like AI Eraser, which can remove unwanted objects from photos. But some users have complained that notifications from some apps come even after DND mode is turned on. It is hoped that this issue will be fixed in future updates.

Is OnePlus 13R a Right Choice?

Pros:

Premium Design and Build Quality
2K Display and 120Hz Refresh Rate
Powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Processor
6000mAh Battery with 100W Fast Charging
OxygenOS 15 with Clean UI

Cons:

Camera struggles a bit in low light
Fingerprints apply quickly on Glossy Edges
Wireless Charging is a bit slow

Final Verdict

If you want a premium feel phone that is powerful, then OnePlus 13R is a best option. It is a flagship killer in terms of gaming, battery, and display. But if you just want a best-in-class camera, then perhaps a high-end model of iPhone or Samsung can be a better option.
