Nubia is preparing to launch its new NaviX Ultra smartphone in China on September 16. Ahead of the launch, the company has confirmed one of the biggest highlights of the phone — a large 7,100mAh battery packed inside a slim 7.62mm body.
The Nubia NaviX Ultra will also focus heavily on AI and flagship-level performance. The phone has been developed with ByteDance and will come with the Doubao Phone Assistant along with a dedicated AI button.
7,100mAh Battery in a Slim Body
Battery capacity is one of the main highlights of the Nubia NaviX Ultra. Nubia has confirmed that the phone will pack a 7,100mAh battery despite measuring just 7.62mm in thickness.
This is interesting because smartphones with batteries above 7,000mAh are usually expected to have thicker bodies. Nubia appears to be using a high-density silicon-carbon battery to provide more capacity without making the phone unusually thick.
The phone is also expected to support fast wired charging along with wireless charging. More charging details should become clear during the official launch.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Performance
Nubia NaviX Ultra will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 flagship processor. The chipset should provide enough performance for demanding games, multitasking and the phone’s AI features.
Nubia has also confirmed the use of LPDDR5X memory supplied by ChangXin Memory Technologies. The memory can reach speeds of up to 10,667Mbps.
This combination puts the NaviX Ultra in the flagship category rather than making it only a battery-focused smartphone.

144Hz OLED Display Expected
The Nubia NaviX Ultra is expected to feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. Reports also point to a high 144Hz refresh rate.
A 144Hz panel should provide smoother scrolling and gaming compared with the more common 120Hz displays. However, Nubia has not revealed every display specification yet.
The company has confirmed BOE as one of the hardware partners for the upcoming smartphone.
50MP Cameras With Periscope Zoom
The upcoming Nubia flagship is expected to feature a triple-camera setup on the back. Reports suggest that it will include a 50MP main camera, an ultra-wide camera and a periscope telephoto camera.
A 50MP front camera is also expected for selfies and video calls. The rear design shows a large horizontal camera section, giving the phone a different look from many current Android flagships.
Complete details about the camera sensors and zoom capabilities should arrive at the September 16 launch.
Doubao AI Will Be a Major Feature
Nubia is not promoting the NaviX Ultra only as a powerful Android smartphone. The company is also positioning it as an AI-focused phone developed jointly by ZTE and ByteDance.
It will come with the Doubao Phone Assistant, which aims to do more than answer simple questions. The AI assistant is designed to understand commands, remember information and complete certain tasks across supported apps.
Nubia has also added a dedicated orange AI button on the side of the phone. Users should be able to quickly access Doubao AI through this button.

The combination of a 7,100mAh battery and 7.62mm body is currently the most interesting part of the phone. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 144Hz OLED display and the Doubao AI assistant could make the NaviX Ultra even more interesting for users looking for a flagship Android phone.
Nubia has not confirmed an India launch yet. Therefore, Indian buyers will have to wait to see whether the company plans to bring the NaviX Ultra to the country after its China debut.
