Meta already offers paid plans for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp, but the company now wants to bring everything under one bigger subscription service. The company has launched Meta One, which gives users more AI usage, extra app features and different tools for creators and businesses.
The good news is that you don’t need to pay just to continue using Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp or Meta AI. Meta says the core experience will remain free. Meta One is mainly for people who want extra features or use Meta’s AI and social media tools more heavily.
So, What Exactly Is Meta One?
Meta One brings several of Meta’s paid features under one subscription system. It covers Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI for now, with more than 50 features available across different plans. Meta also plans to bring Edits and its AI glasses into the service later.
The plans aren’t only for regular users. Meta has separate options for people who use AI frequently, creators who manage their audience and businesses that use social media to reach customers. So, what you get depends heavily on the plan you choose.
Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp Still Have Separate Plans
You don’t have to buy a large Meta One bundle if you only want extra features in one app. Instagram Plus costs $3.99 per month, Facebook Plus also costs $3.99, while WhatsApp Plus starts at $2.99 per month.

Each app offers different extras. Instagram Plus includes things like custom DM and Story fonts and additional Story features, while Facebook Plus adds more customization and Reels features. WhatsApp Plus focuses more on themes, icons, stickers and the ability to pin more chats.

Meta One Core and Premium Focus More on AI
People who use Meta AI more often can choose between Core and Premium. The Core plan costs $7.99 per month and combines the features of Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus. It also gives you more access to Meta’s AI tools.
Premium costs $19.99 per month and increases those AI limits further. Users can generate more images and videos with Meta AI, use Muse-powered tools more often and get additional access to features such as Restyle on Instagram. Meta hasn’t given one fixed AI usage limit because those limits can change depending on the country, product and system conditions.
Meta One Plans and Prices
| Plan | Starting Price | Main Use |
|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp Plus | $2.99/month | Extra WhatsApp features |
| Instagram Plus | $3.99/month | Extra Instagram features |
| Facebook Plus | $3.99/month | Extra Facebook features |
| Meta One Core | $7.99/month | App features + more AI usage |
| Meta One Premium | $19.99/month | Higher AI usage |
| Essential | $14.99/month | Creators and businesses |
| Advanced | $49.99/month | Professional tools and analytics |
| Expert | $149/month | Larger creator/business needs |
| Max | $499/month | Highest feature and AI capacity |
Prices and available features can differ depending on your country, account and app. Meta is rolling out the plans gradually, so everyone may not see the same subscription options at the same time.
Creators Get More Tools to Grow Their Accounts
Meta One also has separate plans for creators who use Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp professionally. The Essential plan starts at $14.99 per month and adds tools that can help creators manage their presence and communicate with their audience.
Higher plans add features such as scheduling Stories up to 30 days ahead, adding links to organic posts and Reels, exporting analytics and getting deeper audience insights. Meta also lets teams give account access to other members without sharing the main password, which could be useful for larger pages and creator teams.
Businesses Get Meta Business Agent and Other Features
Businesses get many of the same professional tools, along with more access to Meta Business Agent. The AI agent can help answer customer messages on WhatsApp, which could reduce some of the work for businesses that receive a large number of questions every day.
Some plans also include a verified badge, impersonation protection, more linked devices and additional business broadcast credits. The more expensive Expert and Max plans increase feature access and Meta Business Agent capacity for larger teams.
Meta AI Will Still Work for Free
This is probably the most important part for normal users. Meta isn’t putting its basic AI experience behind a subscription. You can still use Meta AI without paying for Meta One, just as you can continue using the basic features of WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram for free.
The paid plans mainly give people more room to use expensive AI features such as image and video generation. So if you only occasionally ask Meta AI a question or use the normal social media features, you don’t suddenly need another monthly subscription.
Meta One Is Already Available Globally
Meta says Meta One plans are now available globally, although it is rolling them out gradually. The company has already recorded around 15 million subscriptions and trials across its paid offerings during the earlier rollout.
Meta also plans to keep adding features over time. Edits Plus will eventually join Meta One with more cloud storage and extra access to the upcoming Edits AI assistant, while Meta also wants to extend the subscription system to its AI glasses. For regular users, however, the free versions of Meta’s apps aren’t going anywhere.
