Samsung has started rolling out the August 2026 security update for the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A54. The latest software update is currently reaching users in South Korea and mainly focuses on improving the security of these three Galaxy A-series smartphones.
The August security patch fixes a total of 56 security vulnerabilities found in the previous software. Samsung is expected to gradually expand the update to other regions, although availability can vary depending on the country, device model and network carrier.
August 2026 Security Update Starts Rolling Out
The Samsung Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A54 are receiving new firmware versions with the August 2026 security patch. The update is currently available in Samsung’s home market of South Korea, while users in other countries may have to wait a little longer.
The Galaxy A54 is receiving firmware version A546SKSSJFZH3, while the Galaxy A55 gets A556SKSSADZH3. Meanwhile, Samsung is rolling out firmware version A566SKSS9CZH9 for the Galaxy A56.

Samsung normally releases its security updates gradually instead of making them available to every device at the same time. Therefore, Galaxy A56, A55 and A54 users outside South Korea should not be concerned if the latest update does not immediately appear on their phones.
August Security Patch Fixes 56 Vulnerabilities
The main highlight of the August 2026 security update is the number of security issues it addresses. Samsung’s latest security patch contains fixes for 56 vulnerabilities, including problems related to Android as well as Samsung’s own software.
Out of these, 38 fixes are related to Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures disclosed by Google. These include eight critical-priority and 30 high-priority fixes. Samsung has also included fixes for 18 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures in the latest security patch.
The Samsung-specific fixes address issues affecting different parts of Galaxy software, including Contacts, Dialer, Messages and Galaxy Themes. Other fixes cover areas such as access control, clipboard data, audio and video codecs and cellular radio.
Since this is mainly a security update, Galaxy A56, A55 and A54 users should not expect major visual changes or several new features after installing it. The main purpose is to fix known vulnerabilities and improve overall device security.
How to Install the Latest Update
Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A54 users will receive a notification when the August 2026 security update becomes available for their device. However, users can also manually check for the update instead of waiting for the notification.
To do this, open Settings > Software update and select the option to check for or download the latest update. The wording can differ slightly depending on the One UI version running on the phone.
It is better to connect the smartphone to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading the update. Users should also keep enough battery remaining before starting the installation because the phone will need to restart during the process.
Samsung notes that the timing of security patches can vary depending on the region and device. Therefore, the August update could reach different markets at different times.
Galaxy A56, A55 and A54 Continue to Receive Security Support
Samsung continues to provide security updates for all three Galaxy A-series smartphones. According to Samsung’s current security update information, the Galaxy A54 5G, Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A56 5G remain covered under the company’s security update programme.
These updates are important because Android security patches fix vulnerabilities discovered after a smartphone reaches the market. Samsung’s updates can include security fixes from Google along with additional patches for vulnerabilities affecting Samsung’s own software and services.
The Galaxy A56 is the newest model among the three, while the Galaxy A54 is the oldest. However, Samsung continues to provide software support for all of them, allowing users to receive important security improvements without upgrading their phones immediately.
One UI 9 Could Be the Next Major Update
The Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A54 are also expected to receive One UI 9 based on Android 17. Unlike the August security patch, One UI 9 will be a major software update and should bring new features and interface changes.
However, the One UI 9 rollout is separate from the current security update. Samsung has not included major One UI features with this August patch, so users should consider it mainly an important security-focused release.
For now, Samsung has started rolling out the August 2026 security update to the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A54 in South Korea. Users in other regions can regularly check the Software update section on their phones as Samsung gradually expands availability.
